Key Product Details

Compatibility:

The Magene power meter is compatible with Praxis direct mount cranksets. Direct mount cranksets have drive-side crank arms that can be removed from the crankset. In addition, if you were to view the backside of the crank, you would see three small bolts or screws that secure the crank arm to the spider or chainring. Regarding chainrings, it fits 110 BCD 5-bolt and 110 BCD 4-bolt chainrings. See Compatibility tab for more information.

Power Measurement:

The Magene P505 measures power at the spider and is therefore able to measure power from both legs. It also measures left and right power balance, cadence and pedal smoothing.

Key Features:

Dual-leg power measurement that is accurate to +/- 1.0%, 200 hours of battery life, rechargeable battery, 110 grams, ANT+ and Bluetooth compatibility, auto-zero (automatic calibration). See Specs tab for more information.

Advice From Our Staff:

The Magene P505-S1103 Praxis Road Power Meter is a great way to add power to Praxis cranksets. This is a very affordable way to add a power meter that will provide left and right leg power measurements to your crankset. In addition, since it bolts on to your existing crankset, there is no need to buy new cranks or change bottom brackets.

Compatibility

Crankset: The Magene P505 Praxis Road Power Meter is compatible with Praxis direct mount cranksets. Direct mount cranksets (left image) have drive-side crank arms that can be removed from the crankset. In addition, if you were to view the backside of the crank, you would see three small bolts or screws that secure the crank arm to the spider or chainring.

Standard cranksets (right image) have a one-piece drive-side crank arm and spider. That is, the crank arm and spider are one solid piece of aluminum.

Most modern Praxis cranksets are direct mount. This includes Zayante M30, Alba M30 and Zayante Carbon M30. It's very important you confirm you have a direct mount version where the drive-side crank arm can be removed. If you are not sure, please send us some images of your crankset and we would be happy to confirm for you.

Praxis Direct Mount vs. Standard Crankset

Chainrings: This power meter is compatible with 110 BCD 5-bolt and 110 BCD 4-bolt chainrings. In many cases, you can use your existing chainrings assuming they use the same configuration as the power meter you order.

Important chainring notes:

1) Some Praxis cranksets come equipped with direct mount chainrings, while others come with LevaTime 160/104 BCD chainrings. In either case, you will need to purchase new Praxis Works Buzz Road Chainrings or Praxis Works Buzz Sport Road Chainrings as direct mount or LevaTime chainrings won't work with a Magene power meter. If you are not sure if your current chainrings will fit, please contact us so we can help.

2) This power meter is not compatible with Praxis 110x5 48/32 chainrings. This is because the 32T chainring is smaller than the diameter of the power meter. 110x5 50/34 is the smallest chainring that will work.

What is BCD?: BCD (bolt circle diameter) is simply the diameter of a circle that passes through the centers of the bolt holes in your chainring. The BCD is usually stamped right on the chainring as either 110 or 130. It is important to know what BCD your crankset is because assuming you want to use your existing chainrings on your new power meter, you need to order the correct BCD.
